Photo Coverage: Audra McDonald Celebrates 100th Performance at LADY DAY AT EMERSON'S BAR & GRILL

Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill, the musical play which stars record breaking Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald as jazz legend Billie Holiday, just played it's 100th performance yesterday, July 2, 2014. The most honored female performer of the 2013-2014 season, Ms. McDonald was also the recipient of the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards. BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration and you can check out photos below!

Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill began performances at Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street, btwn. Broadway and 8th Avenue) on March 25th, 2014, and opened on April 13th, 2014. The production will play a strictly limited engagement through August 31, 2014.

In addition to Audra McDonald's Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Play, the productions sound designer, Steve Canyon Kennedy, won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Sound Design of a Play.

Walter McBride As a 14 year old youth, Walter was transfixed by his first Broadway Show, the original production of 'GREASE'. His Journey to celebrity photojournalism began that fateful night. Meeting, photographing and getting to know the cast inspired him to spend his professional life doing what he loved.
