Performance Network Theatre Seeks 2010-2011 Apprentices

By:

Performance Network Theatre is seeking two apprentices for their Theatre Apprentice Program. Hard-working college graduates or seniors with only online classes interested in launching a professional career at a nationally respected, professional Equity theatre are invited to apply. This comprehensive apprenticeship gives practical, real-world experience in arts management and production, important contacts in the professional theatre community and a significant resume credit.

The available positions will be held one year beginning in the summer of 2010. The program is designed for individuals who are interested in launching a career in Arts Management, Marketing, Fundraising and Development, Theatrical Design, Technical Direction or Stage Management.
This is a great opportunity for any recent graduate wishing to make an impression in the Michigan theatre scene. Apprentices spend a portion of their time as a production assistant, which earns points toward an Actors' Equity card.

Apprentices are selected by application and interview. Applications are available online at www.performancenetwork.org. Apprentices work a minimum of 40 hours per week and are paid a $300 weekly stipend to defray living costs. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2010.

The Network reaches 40,000 theatre patrons and children each year through the year-round Professional Series and The Children's Theatre Network. Performance Network also presents the Fireside Festival of New Works and a series of classes on theatre-related topics. The Network provides uncompromising artistic leadership in the region and produces works that engage, challenge and inspire audiences and artists.
