Theatre enthusiasts in the Greater Bangor region will have the opportunity once again to see the best of Broadway on Broadway through Penobscot Theatre Company's Weekend in New York City, March 27-29, 2015. "We've put together a package this year that includes some white-hot tickets," said Producing Artistic Director Bari Newport, "and I can't wait to enjoy these shows with our group!" Participants will have great seats to two productions sure to delight:

  • GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER is currently reigning as "the new undisputed king of musical comedy," having won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical and an armload of other honors. It tells the story of Monty Navarro, an heir to a family fortune who seeks to jump the line of succession by eliminating the eight pesky relatives who stand in his way. One NPR critic raved, "I've never laughed so hard at a Broadway musical," and The New York Times cheered: "It has one of the most accomplished scores to be heard in the past dozen years...[star] Jefferson Mays' brilliant performance deserves to be immortalized in Broadway lore."
  • FISH IN THE DARK, written by and starring the incomparable Larry David, is among the most anticipated premieres of 2015. David, who gave us television's Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld, has been tight-lipped about the plot, revealing simply that it's "about a death in the family." Rosie Perez and Jerry Adler have signed-on as part of the 15-member cast and Tony Award-winning Anna D. Shapiro is directing.

Travelers will enjoy round-trip deluxe motor coach transportation from Bangor; lodging at a theatre district hotel; several specially planned meals; and access to behind-the-scenes experiences only Penobscot Theatre Company can provide.

The complete weekend package is available for $1,200 per person based on double-occupancy lodging ($1,350 for a single room, $1,100 for a triple, and $1,000 for a quad). To register or obtain more information, call the Box Office at (207) 942-3333. Space is limited.
