"ROCKERS ON BROADWAY – BEHIND THE MUSIC" will be a return to Rockers on Broadway's origins started in1993 when The Who's Tommy was preparing to open on Broadway. One day during rehearsals original member of The Who and Tommy composer Pete Townshend approached cast member Donnie Kehr about doing a couple of live concerts around the city. "He wanted the cast to learn what real Rock & Roll felt like, and for a bonus we could perform with him. He wanted us to have this experience for ourselves, because it would help translate that edgy rock sensibility into our performances." Says Rockers on Broadway founder Kehr. Nineteen editions later Rockers on Broadway is going strong bringing together the worlds of Rock and Roll and The Great White Way.
