The Ware Center's Jazz In The Sky presents The Paul Jost Quartet to perform at the Ware Center, 42 North Prince Street, Lancaster, PA on Friday April 25 at 7:30 p.m. The Quartet is Paul Jost on vocals, Kevin MacConnell on bass, Frank Strauss on piano, and Anwar Marshall on drums.

Singer Paul Jost is a rare talent - an eclectic artist with great skill as a vocalist, drummer, composer and arranger. He is a prolific composer, writing over 40 CD's, including the highly acclaimed song "Book Faded Brown", that has been recorded by The Band, Carl Perkins and Rick Danko. His compositions for major music libraries are heard daily in over 750 markets throughout the United States, and, he has composed for Canon Pictures and NBC-TV's Emmy Award-winning series "Special Treat".

Kevin MacConnell, bassist, has enjoyed a busy and varied musical career. He has performed with jazz greats, Mel Torme, Nancy Wilson, Billy Eckstine and Joe Williams, as well as other international performers such as Diahann Caroll, and opera diva, Denyce Graves; to name a few. He has performed and recorded with tenor saxophonist, Earnie Watts and Philadelphia jazz legend Larry McKenna and tours throughout the U.S. regularly with a classical/bluegrass hybrid the 'Depue Brothers Band'.

Pianist Frank Strauss has played, toured, arranged and recorded with a number of artists, most notably Tom Jones and Melissa Manchester. Frank has also performed with Peabo Bryson, Chaka Khan, and Joan Osbourne, among others. Frank also has extensive experience writing, arranging and recording music for television. Shows include 'Sid the Science Kid', 'TMZ', 'Judge Joe Brown' and others. Television appearances include 'The Tonight Show', 'The Jimmy Kimmel Show', Late Night with Conan O' Brian', 'Ellen', 'Good Morning America', 'Live w/ Regis and Kelly', and others.

Drummer Anwar Marshall is one of the most in demand young musicians on the Philadelphia scene. He attended the University of the Arts and has performed or recorded with musicians such as Dave Douglas, Orrin Evans, Tim Warfield, Duane Eubanks, Jaleel Shaw, Robert Glasper, Dwayne Burno, Joel Frahm, Steve Mckie, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Adam Blackstone, and John Swana. Currently, Anwar is a co-leader with Josh Lawrence and Jason Fraticeli with a ten-piece ensemble called the Fresh Cut Orchestra and play regularly at the Painted Bride Art Center and the Kimmel Center.
