Known for his thrilling live performances and irreverent style, award-winning musical troublemaker David Yazbek takes the stage with his band at 92YTribeca in a new series, presented the first Monday of each month. Yazbek - whose influences range from Captain Beefheart to Frank Loesser - plans to deliver musical pyrotechnics, new songs debuted at every show, and unexpected, thrilling guests from the worlds of theater, music, comedy and beyond.

For his show tonight, Feb 4, Yazbek welcomes Tony award-winning singer and actress Patti LuPone. Tickets: $25 in advance / $30 day of show.

David Yazbek is a long-time cult favorite-a recording artist, vocalist and pianist known for his thrilling live performances and irreverent style. Over the course of his surprising career, Yazbek has earned numerous awards. A three-time Tony Award nominee, his shows The Full Monty and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels have played in over 20 countries and his latest, Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, is set to open in London next year. With his band, he has released 5 albums, the latest being Evil Monkey Man. He is also a GRAMMY-nominated record producer and an Emmy Award-winning TV writer (for Late Night with David Letterman).

Patti LuPone created the role of Lucia in the musical Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (music and lyrics by David Yazbek) for which she was nominated for Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards. The author ofThe New York Times bestseller, Patti LuPone: A Memoir, Ms. LuPone most recently appeared on Broadway opposite Debra Winger in David Mamet's The Anarchist, and prior to that with her Evita co-star Mandy Patinkin in An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin. She is the winner of the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Actress in a Musical and the Drama League Award for Outstanding Performance of the Season for her performance as Rose in the most recent Broadway production of Gypsy. Other recent stage credits include her debut with the New York City Ballet as guest soloist in their new production of The Seven Deadly Sins, Joanne in the New York Philharmonic's production of Company, her debut with the Los Angeles Opera in Weill-Brecht'sMahagonny, the world premiere of Jake Heggie's opera To Hell and Back with San Francisco's Baroque Philharmonia Orchestra and Mrs. Lovett in John Doyle's production of Sweeney Todd (Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle nominations; Drama League Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre).
