Paolo Montalban Joins Cast of 'THE LEADING MEN IV' Benefit at Birdland 5/11

Paolo Montalban, who was Prince Christopher in the TV movie of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella," starring Brandy, has just joined the cast of "The Leading Men IV,' a benefit concert for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, on Monday, May 11, at 7 pm at Birdland, 315 W. 44th St.

Montalban also has reprised in his princely role onstage in ‘'Cinderella' with Deborah Gibson and then Jamie-Lynn Sigler. His Broadway credits include Manjiro in the 2004 Roundabout revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Weidman's "Pacific Overtures" and playing Lun Tha in the revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "The King and I.'

As part of the long-running Broadway at Birdland series, "The Leading Men IV" concert will feature top singers from Broadway and cabaret. John Tartaglia (Avenue Q, Shrek the Musical) will host once again, and Emmy-nominated writer, host and comic Seth Rudetsky returns as musical director, along with director Alan Muraoka (NAATCO's Falsettoland).

This year's 'Leading Men' lineup consists of:

* Zak Resnick (The Broadway Boys)
* Nicholas Rodriguez (Tarzan)
* Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy)

"The Leading Men IV" concert is produced by Wayman Wong, who edits entertainment for the New York Daily News. He originated and wrote 'The Leading Men" column for Playbill.com from 2003-2006. Since 2005, the "Leading Men' concerts have raised thousands of dollars for Broadway Cares, and alumni from the three previous soldout shows include: Matt Cavenaugh, Cheyenne Jackson, Aaron Lazar, Matthew Morrison, Hugh Panaro, Daniel Reichard, Jai Rodriguez and Christopher Sieber.

Premium tickets are $100 plus a $10 food-drink minimum. General seating is $50 plus a $10 food-drink minimum.
