Cabaret Cares the monthly benefit series that raises funds for Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS and Help Is On The Way Today returns in August. Created in 2005 by cabaret producer Joseph Macchia Cabaret Cares was created to help raise funds for Broadway Cares. The series was then a weekly summer series at Helen's cabaret room that brought together the best of the Broadway and Cabaret community. The series raised over $9000.00 in 2005. After the series concluded Joseph decided to take a year hiatus from producing the series in 2006 but knew that it would return someday.

In the fall of 2006 Joseph Brought back Cabaret Cares this time the series would move to a new venue The Laurie Beechman Theatre. The series would also now benefit two organizations Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS and Help Is On The Way Today. Help Is On The Way Today was founded by Joseph Macchia to help Children living with HIV and AIDS in New York City. The series again would bring together the best of the Broadway and Cabaret communities and include shows by the cast of The Little Mermaid, A Chorus Line and Jersey Boys and include Special guests Joanne Worley,and MAC Award winning singer Marilyn Maye. Cabaret Cares was honored in 2009 with The Backstage Bistro Award for Special Achievement,and the 2009 MAC Award(Manhattan Association of Cabaret and Clubs) for best Reoccuring/Variety series.

Cabaret Cares returns for season 4 and will kick off with an evening of Amazing Broadway talent. Broadway Diva Natalie Toro will kick off the series on August 17th. Natalie was most recently seen on Broadway in A Tale Of Two Cities. Other credits include Eponine is Les Miserables,Grizabla in Cats.She has also appeared as Eva Peron in the 20th Anniversary Tour of Evita,Natalie has most recently been wowing Cabaret audiences with her new solo cabaret show.Playing to sold out audiences at The Metropolitan Room and Feinstein's in New York and The Magic Castle in Hollywood. Natalie performed in the Cabaret Cares series in December of 2008 and returned for the Gala in 2009. Now she's back to kick off the series in an evening entitled "A Fun Evening with Natalie Toro and Friends". The evening will include performances by Natalie as well as an amazing lineup of Broadway talent.

Cabaret Cares "A Fun Evening with Natalie Toro and Friends" takes place on August 17th at 9:30 p.m. at The Laurie Beechman Theatre at 407 West 42nd Street, Doors open at 9:00 p.m. There is a $25 Cover Charge and $15 Food/Drink Minimum.
