Paige Howard - a 21-year-old NYU theatre student and daughter of film director Ron Howard - has been cast in the title role of Mary Rose, J. M. Barrie's rarely-seen, 1920 play, being given its first major revival in over 50 years at The Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street), starting February 1, 2007.

Howard, making her professional debut in Mary Rose, follows in the footsteps of her older sister Bryce Dallas Howard, who appeared in the Public Theatre production of As You Like It in 2003, and recently appeared in the films "Lady in the Water" and the upcoming "Spider Man 3."

Mary Rose "is a little-known play by the author of Peter Pan, and is the haunting, lyrical tale of a young woman's disappearance and her mysterious return to her family," according to press materials.  The show is directed by Tina Landau.

With an official opening night set for February 20, Mary Rose is part of the Vineyard Theatre 25th anniversary season.
