Pop Punk High, a new musical reveling in all of your middle-school angst, opens at the PIT Loft on March 3rd. Featuring an all-pop punk score (written by and starring a former local pop punk celebrity), Pop Punk High tells the story of a high school where everyone is pop punk, it's always 2006, and there's never been anything cooler than shredding, pizza, and flipping off your lame-ass parents.

Pop Punk High follows Derek, a young wannabe pop punk front man, on his journey to win Amanda Bunkface's love by becoming the coolest, most pop punk guy in school. But Derek can't even skate or play guitar, and Amanda Bunkface's current boyfriend, Skeet Tentz, shreds like a pro - there's no way Derek could ever beat him in SKATE or at the Battle of the Bands. But when Derek finds the ghost of Avril Lavigne in a lamp in his attic (her death and subsequent replacement by a doppelgänger were covered up by record label executives who wanted to continue profiting off her image, it's a long story), he suddenly has access to three wishes that could make all of his pop punk dreams come true.

From the team that created The Disembodied Hand That Fisted Everyone to Death - the Musical!, the low-budget smash hit that played various theatres in NYC for over a year and was subsequently licensed by the Boston Conservatory. The Disembodied Hand... was featured in Time Out NY, The Jay Thomas Show on Sirius XM Radio, and many other outlets.

Pop Punk High features a book by Anderson Cook and music by Ben Lapidus.

Pop Punk High is directed by Turner Barrett Law, produced by Anderson Cook, choreographed by Christine Ferry, and stage managed by Stephanie Wurster.
