The Saint Pio Foundation announces that on December 10, 2014, the American Singer & Actor Franc d'Ambrosio become Goodwill Ambassador of the Saint Pio Foundation, a national charity organization with the goal to support educational, social and cultural projects that enhance both nationally and internationally the awareness of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, universally acclaimed as one of the most venerated contemporary saints of the Catholic Church.

The funds raised by the Foundation are used to establish faithful Catholic medical facilities, medical schools and shrines in the United States of America, and to commit a percentage of its donations to support the hospital "Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza" in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy, founded by Saint Pio in 1956, and currently owned by the Holy See.

Franc d'Ambrosio is joining the Goodwill Ambassador Team, together with the Hollywood Actor Joe Mantegna and Singer and Composer Lee Curreri.

Franc is an American singer and actor, best known for his impressive portrayal of the "Phantom" in the Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award winning Musical, The Phantom of The Opera, for which he was awarded the distinction as the "World's Longest Running Phantom," having performed it for more than 2300 times in a decade. Franc's extraordinary achievements also include an Academy Award Nominated film, an Emmy Award Nominated television show, a four time Tony nominated Broadway show, Two Grammy Considerations, and a National Theater Award Nomination.

Franc is perhaps also known worldwide for being the actor and singer who played the part of Anthony Corleone, the opera singing son of Al Pacino and Diane Keaton in Coppola's seven time Academy Award nominated film Godfather III, where he sang the Academy Award winning theme song, "Speak Softly Love" (Brucia la Terra) - both in the film and in the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. D'Ambrosio's performances of the theme song have garnered over one million hits on YouTube.
