PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW, the popular concert series dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the works of new and emerging composing talents, will present PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW version 4.0 on Monday, February 18 and Monday, February 25 both at 7:00pm at Stage 72 at the Triad (158 West 72nd Street, 2nd Floor - between Amsterdam & Columbus, on the Upper West Side).
Featured in PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW 4.0 will be works by Joe Iconis (BLOODSONG OF LOVE at Ars Nova, "Joe Iconis Rock and Roll Jamboree"), Michael Mahler (HERO at the Marriott Theatre/Lincolnshire, "The Lincoln Squares"), and Will Van Dyke (PAGES at Cap 21, THE GIRLS I'VE LIKE LIKED at Ars Nova), as well as the works that inspire them from artists including Frank Loesser, Stephen Sondheim, Ben Folds and Dolly Parton to name a few.
Under the musical direction of Andrew Byrne (vocal arranger for the Glamazons on NBC's "America's Got Talent"), PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW 4.0 will feature the vocal talents of Julia Burrows (THE MUSIC MAN at the Ogunquit Playhouse, Happy Days at the Goodspeed Opera House & the Papermill Playhouse); Michael Deleget (THINGS AS THEY ARE 2010 NYMF, The Bernstein's "Mass" at Carnegie Hall); and Leslie Henstock (I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT... at Surflight Theatre, A CHRISTMAS STORY National tour).
The band will feature Ray Cetta (Bass), Micah Burgess (Guitar), Tim Lykins (Drums) and Andrew Byrne (Piano). PYMK is co-produced by David Alan Thronton.
The PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW concert series was born of a desire to celebrate new composing artists, and explore the fundamental links that help make them part of the new "Great American Songbook." Each version of the concert series combines the songs of three featured writers along with the familiar songs and composers that have been influential to their work. Each version may include, not only the songs by these writers and their influences, but also original "mash-ups," and medleys. Past concerts have included the works by and influences of Jonathan Reid Gealt, Robert Rokicki, Adam Gwon, Paul Loesel and Scott Burkell, Ryan Scott Oliver, Georgia Stitt, Mark Petty and Barry Anderson, Jeff Blumenkrantz, and Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond.
PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW 4.0 will be presented on Monday, February 18 at 7pm and Monday, February 25 at 7:00pm at Stage 72 at the Triad (158 West 72nd Street, 2nd Floor - between Amsterdam & Columbus, on the Upper West Side). Tickets for PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW 4.0 are $16, plus a 2-drink minimum, and can be purchased online at http://goo.gl/4tazB or by calling 1-800-838-3006.
