Prolific American musician and Grammy Award-winning jazz clarinetist Eddie Daniels will perform a concert tonight, November 9, at 8 pm in Weigel Hall Auditorium, 1866 College Rd. The concert is presented in association with the School of Music's Clarinet Spectacular: Jazz Meets the Classics.

Daniels will be joined by Caroline Hartig, clarinet professor, and the Ohio State Jazz Ensemble, directed by Ted McDaniel, professor.

As a jazz clarinet player, Daniels has toured and recorded with a variety of bands, small groups and orchestras, and appeared on television. In 1989, he received a Grammy Award for playing on the Roger Kellaway arrangement of Memos from Paradise. Daniels has played with the late trumpet legend Thad Jones, and has been featured as a guest artist with Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band on its first album, Swingin' for the Fences.

Tickets are $20 general admission, $10 senior citizens, Alumni Association members, non-Ohio State students and children. Free to all ConcertCard holders and Ohio State students, faculty and staff (1 ticket per BuckID presented in person, subject to availability).
