From a 12-inch sliding compound miter saw to a dozen snap blade knives, Stanley Black & Decker is helping deck out the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's (OSF) recently-completed Production Building in Talent with new equipment through an in-kind donation valued at $12,627.24.

OSF Technical Director William Tiesi had heard Stanley Black & Decker was known for helping out nonprofits focused on rebuilding, so he reached out to see if the company could fill some of the Festival's growing need for tools and other equipment.

"They quickly and generously said yes," Tiesi said. "We gave them a giant list. After years of limited space in our old facility, we are now able get the tools we need-not just those we can fit-thanks to our new Production Building and the generosity of Stanley Black & Decker."

That list includes everything from smaller items such as STANLEY tape rules, hammers and putty knives, to larger tools like DEWALT sanders, planers and power saws.

"Stanley Black & Decker is happy to support the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's efforts to outfit their new Production Building with world-class tools," said Tim Perra, Vice President, Communications for Stanley Black & Decker. "We are always proud to see our tools going to good use and can only hope that our donation has a small part in keeping Shakespeare alive for audiences for years to come."

The OSF Production Building will serve as a centralized location for the creation of all OSF set and prop construction, as well as scenic painting. The building also houses properties storage and the OSF Costume Rental business.
