This fall in NYC, former stockbroker turned performer/comedian Chris Foley will share the trials & tribulations of being trapped working in the wide world of finance with his laugh-out-load solo show OFF THE DESK (Tales of a Mediocre Stockbroker). The production will run for 10 weeks from September 12-November 21, playing Saturdays at 8pm at the C.O.W. (Celebration of Whimsy, 21 Clinton Street, Lower East Side). Opening night is 9/26 and tickets ($25) can be purchased online at www.OffTheDeskShow.com or by phone at 800-838-3006.

In OFF THE DESK, a former stockbroker shares comedic stories about his lackluster career on Wall Street, and about the fantasy world he created that allowed him to escape the daily grind (while secretly longing to be an artist). In the show, Chris Foley takes us from the esteemed halls of the Ivy League to the frenzy of the trading floor, leading to the debauchery of alcohol, drugs, disingenuous strippers, and more. He hilariously recounts his career through the many characters he worked with along the way, from the chauvinistic foreign exchange salesman, to the sociable and suave Silver Fox stock loan trader. OFF THE DESK is not about the 1% vs. the 99%, but rather a story about a man who makes the wrong decision to work in finance while having other aspirations in life, and navigating his way to a career that makes him truly happy.

Chris Foley is a graduate of Dartmouth College and began his financial career at Lehman Brothers in 1997 where he started as a Sales Assistant in Institutional Equity Sales and went on to work as an Associate in Equity Finance. He then moved to RBC Capital Markets in 2001 where he worked as an Associate and then Vice President in Institutional Equity Sales until 2007. His final job in Finance was at CLSA where he worked as Director in Institutional Equity Sales from 2007 until 2010.

Foley has also performed stand-up comedy at clubs throughout New York, such as Gotham Comedy Club, Caroline's, Stand Up New York and Don't Tell Mama, and he's also performed improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.

OFF THE DESK (Tales of a Mediocre Stockbroker) will run from September 12-November 21, playing Saturdays at 8pm at the C.O.W. (Celebration of Whimsy, 21 Clinton Street, Lower East Side). Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at www.OffTheDeskShow.com or by phone at 800-838-3006.
