New York Stage and Film (SAF) is pleased to announce that Nicki Genovese has been named the new Managing Director of the 25 year old theater company.

Artistic director Johanna Pfaelzer commented, "I am absolutely delighted to welcome Nicki Genovese to New York Stage and Film. We have been seeking an innovative and accomplished Managing Director to help lead our company into the future. Nicki's previous work demonstrates her passion for and understanding of the process of developing new work, and I look forward to the impact she is sure to have on our organization."

"I am thrilled to be working with New York Stage and Film, a company whose work I have long admired for its commitment to both the process of developing new work, and the work itself," said Nicki Genovese. "I'm also delighted by the opportunity to partner with Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer, who has done an amazing job of moving the company forward for over 12 years."

Nicki Genovese has over 20 years of theater experience, most recently working as the General Manager at the Public Theater / New York Shakespeare Festival. Before returning to New York, Nicki was the General Manager for South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, CA, and the General Manager at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival in Allentown, PA. Nicki has managed productions and companies on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off Broadway, and has run several showcases, productions, and theatre companies in the Northeast, including the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre (NYC), the American Stage Company (NJ), and the Colonial Theatre / Westerly Shakespeare-in-the-Park (RI). She was Assistant Company Manager for THE RED SHOES on Broadway, and Production Associate at Radio City Music Hall.

Nicki recently completed line producing the documentary short celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and this past Summer served on the 2009 New Jersey State Council on the Arts Theatre Peer Review Panel. Nicki holds a BA from Temple University and an MFA from Columbia University.
