NewFilmmakers New York's spring 2012 series continues with HARMONY, tonight, May 30 at 7:15 p.m., presented at the Anthology Film Archives, located at 32 Second Avenue & 2nd Street, New York City.

An inner journey into a woman’s worst fears. In the village of Harmony, Vanessa leads a quiet life as a housewife. It is only when she realizes the true nature of the town that she decides to flee the barbaric customs of its inhabitants including her own family. Caught in her escape, she will try again but can she ever succeed?

HARMONY is a classic horror tale of a woman trying to abscond the atrocities she witnesses, but the story also works on a metaphorical level as Vanessa tries unsuccessfully to break free from her duties as a woman, wife and mother in a society that quite literally devours the female figure.

A film by Pierre-Emmanuel Plassart, a native of France and graduate of the Art Center College of Design who is now working as a writer and director in Los Angeles and Europe.
