Latin Horror, in association with NewFilmakers, presents the New Latino Filmmakers Screening Series - "The HORRORphiles #6 - MIEDO MASHUP" on Wednesday, October 27 at Anthology Film Archives to celebrating the work of emerging Latino/a directors working within the genre of horror.

NewLatino Filmmakers is the best and only independent Latino "cinematheque" showcase in New York City, specializing in documentaries, shorts, and features.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception in the theater's lobby, followed by narrative shorts at 7 p.m., and a screening of "The Haunting" directed by Elio Quiroga. In "The Haunting, following the birth of a new child, Francesca (a pediatrician) begins to suffer from postpartum depression. Following the advice of friend and psychiatrist, she and her husband move to a new home away from the city, but Francesca's obsession with her new baby engulfs her. The large house in which she and her family live alone seems to hide terrible secrets and as Francesca receives nocturnal visits she is slowly driven dangerously close to madness.

Narrative shorts will include "Zombie Rocker" directed by Leonardo Rodriguez, "Not Even Death" directed by Monica Winter Vigil, "Looking For These?" directed by Arnold Acevedo, "Halloween Before Christmas" directed by Rafa Martinez, and "Confined" directed by Tomax Aponte.

There will be a Q&A with filmmakers in attendance immediately following final program.

This series is curated by Edwin Pagán.
