NZ Fringe Wellington is thrilled to announce a new award partnership with San Diego International Fringe that will see local lads Allergic to Love head over to perform in July this year.

A late addition to the NZ Fringe awards this year is a new partnership that will see an exchange of art between San Diego and Wellington, the San Diego International Fringe Festival TOUR READY AWARD will see the Californian festival host a New Zealand show that premiered in NZ Fringe in July, with NZ reciprocating the award here in the 2018 NZ Fringe Wellington.

The award winning show for this inaugural award is Allergic to Love, written and performed by Tom Knowles., Sam Logan, Josh Logan and Jed Parsons.

Tom said of receiving the award "Talk about living on a prayer! We are absolutely thrilled and super excited to be given the chance to rock the souls, to melt the faces and to break the hearts of America! This beast has well and truly been let out of the cage and like a bat outta hell, we are ready to rock. We had such great support and an amazing response for the NZ Fringe Festival that we all can't wait to continue the winning streak and represent all the people that have got us this far. This is a show by the people, for the people- He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata- we are forever thankful for everyone's help and support thus far and I am so glad that it's a joint consensus; the show must go on!

Although written over the last 10 years, mostly in our small town of Blenheim, I have a great sense of this show almost returning home to where this genre of music was most successful and birthed some of our absolute idols. We are electrified for this once in a life time opportunity from San Diego International Fringe Festival and in the late words of my main man Freddy, We WILL Rock you!"

Tom and the band will be furiously fundraising over the coming months to get to San Diego and NZ Fringe can't wait to see them take flight!

Executive Director, Kevin Charles Patterson, of San Diego International Fringe Festival says, "I love the idea of having more and more of these cultural exchanges that create such great opportunities for artists."
