As a catalyst for professional development between choreographers, directors, producers and creative team members, BC Beat provides a platform for curious and innovative theatrical choreographers to share story driven work in an inspired environment of heightened energy and intimate support. In just two years since its premiere in the spring of 2011, BC Beat has created a family of 32 choreographers, each with a unique tie to Broadway and a dedication to developing theatrical work, including Stephen Hoggett (choreographer of Tony Award winning Once), Camille A. Brown (Camille A. Brown & Dancers, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater), Al Blackstone (Capezio Award Winning Choreographer), Jon Rua (Assistant Choreographer In the Heights, Bring It On the Musical, Hands on a Hard Body), Cherice Barton (Associate Choreographer of Spiderman), and Richard Hinds (Associate Director of Newsies).

The program for Monday May 6th stays true to the BC Beat mission by introducing new work by John Selya (Tony Nomination for Movin' Out, Resident director of Come Fly Away, American Ballet Theatre, Artist-in-residence at New York's Joyce Soho), Ryan Kasprzak (Choreographer of the multi Drama Desk Award nominated company Parallel Exit, Associate Resident Choreographer of Billy Elliot, Assistant Choreographer SMASH), Brooke Wendle (Dance Supervisor for Cirque du Soleil, Choreographer of Adam Lambert's Glam National World Tour, performer in Broadway's Wicked, Aida, Guys and Dolls), Austin Eyer (Edinburg Fringe Festival, performer in Broadway's Evita, How to Succeed, Billy Elliot), Cindy Salgado (assistant choreographer to Mia Michaels and Andy Blankenbuehler on projects including Cirque du Soleil, In the Heights, The Wiz, Bring it On, performer with Kidd Pivot), Gregory Haney (Recently named Top 25 Dancers to Watch in 2013 in Dance Magazine, performer in Broadway's Bring It On, Memphis, Tarzan and off-Broadway's Hit the Wall), and Ms. Jancuska (current and upcoming projects include choreographer of Cotton Patch Gospel, Les Miserables, and Lost Highway).
