Manhattan Musical Theater Lab and The Schulberts will present the newest musical by the writing/producing duo Charlie Schulman & Michael Roberts, GOLDSTEIN, directed by Christopher Scott. The musical, which is aimed for an Off-Broadway production, will be presented on Friday, April 15 at 3pm and Monday, April 18 at 7pm at the Actors Temple Theatre (339 West 47th Street).

Louis Goldstein has written a vicious tell-all book about his family. The book is a bestseller. But is it true? Were his parents and grandparents really cowards, cheaters and bigots? Or is Louis lying to make his book more interesting? We travel through the family history to find out and along the way, we realize that--when it comes to family--the truth is never clear.

Told with memorable songs and sharp-edged dialogue, GOLDSTEIN, is a fast-paced, witty and moving musical which has already delighted audiences in Washington, DC and The Abingdon Theater.

This project has attracted Broadway talent to help tell the Goldstein's story including Jill Abramovitz (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella), Julie Benko (Current: Fiddler on the Roof), Vanessa Lemonides (Jewtopia), Patricia Noonan (Death Takes a Holiday), David Perlman (Baby It's You!, Yank!), Jim Poulos (Rent) and Jim Stanek (Lestat, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum).

Schulman and Roberts were most recently represented by The Fartiste, which won the award for Best Musical at the 2006 Fringe NYC Festival and had successful run Off-Broadway in the 2011-2012 season, followed by a concert performance at The Charing Cross Theatre on London's West End. Michael Roberts is also the mind behind the wildly successful GOLF: The Musical, which has seen two Off-Broadway revivals and productions in 25 states and 6 countries. Charlie Schulman's play The Great Man was a 2013 finalist for The Terrence McNally Award. His play Angel of Death was produced at American Jewish Theatre. Christopher Scott is the Artistic Director for the Masterworks Theater Company, having been representing by his production of The Glass Menagerie last spring at the 47th Street Theater. His other Off-Broadway credits include: NANCY FRIDAY'S MY SECRET GARDEN, GOLF::The Musical, FOR LOVERS ONLY, TAILS, THE BIG BANG, and GREED: A MUSICAL FOR OUR TIMES.
