To mark its 50th anniversary, the National Theatre has released an extensive collection of content from a selection of fifty seminal productions in a new iPad app "50 YEARS OF THE NATIONAL THEATRE" available for free download in the app store. Featuring exclusive content from the National Theatre's archive, the app charts the history of the National Theatre through its stage productions from The Recruiting Officer in 1963 through to The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and The Effect in 2012.

National Theatre Live is an initiative by the National Theatre to broadcast live performances onto cinema screens around the world. Since its first season, which began in June 2009 with the acclaimed production of Phédre starring Helen Mirren, over 1.75 million people have now experienced the work of National Theatre Live in cinemas worldwide.
