Falling Faster Than You Can Run, the new album from singer-songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff, will be released April 1 via mod y vi Records. Released in the U.K. this month, the record has received early critical acclaim-the Sunday Times says it "delivers on the promise of its debut," noting that when Rateliff "makes music, people shut up and listen." Clash Music praises the record's "simple, unaffected songwriting with a direct emotional pull...swarming with undercurrents, with nuances that only become more marked over time," and The Line of Best Fit calls the release as "a hard-earned triumph." Additionally, the video for lead single "Still Trying" is streaming now at American Songwriter http://bit.ly/MpK488. To celebrate, Rateliff will embark on a nationwide tour. See reverse for details.

The new album was produced Jamie Mefford and Rateliff. Of the new music, Rateliff explains, "Falling Faster Than You Can Run is a collection of songs I wrote over a couple years during which I was touring a lot by myself. From a place of removed perspective, I ended up reflecting a lot on interpersonal relationship dynamics...remembering moments or feelings with people that were far away from me helped me feel closer to everything I missed under circumstances of distance and isolation. Even when it also made me feel over-exposed, it was a way to maintain some sense of myself through staying connected to my own experiences as an actual human being." See below for full track listing.

Rateliff's musical family and upbringing in a rural Missouri church laid the foundation for his soulful, folk-laced sound. Though he considers himself "a poor boy from Missouri," Rateliff relocated to his current home, Denver, at the age of 19. His 2010 album, In Memory of Loss, propelled him to the forefront of Denver's tight knit folk scene, and The New York Times dubbed him "a local folk pop hero." Memory of Loss' success landed Rateliff gigs in the U.S. and abroad, touring with acts such as Mumford & Sons, Dr. Dog and The Lumineers.
