Nathan Lane, Peter Jay Fernandez & More Set for Naked Angels & New School for Drama's ANGELS AJAR, 11/4
Naked Angels (Liz Carlson, Artistic Director) and The New School for Drama (Pippin Parker, Director) present Angels Ajar, an exclusive preview of brand new full-length work by some of the industry's most revered and promising talent on November 4th. Jon Robin Baitz (Naked Angels Founding Member, New School for Drama Faculty), Janine Nabers (New School for Drama MFA '08; 2011 Page 73 Playwriting Fellowship); and Kirit Limperis; a gifted participant from 3Thursdays, Naked Angels' public high school outreach program; will share excerpts from their newest work which are still in process.
Angels Ajar is one of the first events in the recently announced partnership between Naked Angels and The New School for Drama. The unique collaboration offers New School students the opportunity to train with Naked Angels through its renowned development programs--including Tuesdays@9, 1st Mondays, the Naked Radio podcast and 3Thursdays-- while providing the company with a home-- the New School's Bank Street complex-- to produce its dramatic works.
Tickets to Angels Ajar are $100 and may be purchased in advance at nakedangels.com/ajar. The event includes a pre-show reception beginning at 6:30 pm. The reading is scheduled for 7:30 pm at The New School for Drama Theater (151 Bank Street, 3rd Floor). All proceeds will benefit the professional theatre artists, their new works, and the New School students participating within Naked Angels' 2013-2014 core programming.

Since it was established in 2005, The New School for Drama's esteemed playwriting alumni include New York New Voices Fellow Bekah Brunstetter (Be A Good Little Widow), Daniel Pearle (Laurents-Hatcher Award-winning A Kid Like Jake), 2012 New York Theater Workshop Fellow Janine Nabers (Welcome to Jesus, Serial.Black.Face.) and Gabe McKinley (0CQ/CX) - all of whom have won the Samuel French Short Play Off-Off-Broadway Short Play Festival.
