Nathan Lane, Cheyenne Jackson Join Cast of USA Pilot

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Broadway favorites Nathan Lane and Cheyenne Jackson are set to star in  a comedy pilot on USA from Douglas McGrath. Lane will also executive produce the still untitled project.

As described by THR, the show is about 'Jasper (Lane), an unlucky actor whose Broadway aspirations must be put on hold when his father's health takes a turn for worse, forcing him to return to his Texas hometown. Jackson will play Tim, a handsome doctor who befriends Jasper in his Texas hometown.'

Lane is best known for his roles as Albert in The Birdcage, Max Bialystock in the musical The Producers, Ernie Smuntz in MouseHunt, Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls, Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and his voice work in The Lion King and Stuart Little. In 2008, he was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame.

Cheyenne Jackson most recently starred as Woody in the Broadway revival of Finian's Rainbow at the St. James Theatre. Prior to that Cheyenne was rocking the house as Sonny Malone in the smash hit Xanadu (Drama League, Drama Desk nominations) on Broadway. Jackson's film credits include the Oscar nominated United 93, Curiosity and Hysteria. He has guest starred on TV in "30 Rock," "Ugly Betty," "Lipstick Jungle" and "Life After Mars." Additionally, he portrayed "Sebastian Kinglare" for the Sony/Lifetime Television pilot "Family Practice." He currently has a guest starring role on GLEE.
