BREAKDOWN:

MRS. DEATON - 30s/40s - Government employed den mother, and the oil that keeps the machine running smoothly. No-nonsense, invested, protective. Mrs Deaton cares not only for her job and the future of the WASP program, but also for the girls that she oversees. Not to be trifled with.
ZIGGIE LEWIS - 40's - A rare woman indeed. Confident and passionate, Ziggy is the flight instructor for the student pilots. Somewhat of a legend, commands respect, and sometimes awe. Isn't afraid to get her hands dirty.
VIRGINIA HASCALL - 20s - The compassionate observer. Kind, conflicted, and yearning, Virginia struck out from home to do the right thing and believes she is going to find a part of herself that was not there before in this process. A great avoider of conflicts, though they appear to find her.
EDDIE HARKNELL - 20s - The blunt and quick-witted "hot pilot." Rash, driven, injured. Eddie doesn't shy from conflict, enjoys achieving as much as she does breaking the rules, and yearns to find her place in the world. Believes in challenging others and being challenged in order to make them their best.
NORMA JEAN HARRIS -20s- The confident teacher.. Norma Jean is a Carolinian lady with an appreciation for rules and structure. Opinionated, polished, kind. Believes in trusting others and often puts their well-being before her own, though she's no pushover, on the contrary, she can be an unstoppable force of nature.
ROSALIE HARTSON -teens/20s- The brave dreamer. Rosalie sees the world as a beautiful place, but she has yet to find her footing in it. Insecure, gentle, musical. A firm believer in supporting those she loves, no matter what.
ALICE HAWKINS -20s- The cool intellect. Whip-smart, empathetic, long-suffering. Alice is the problem solver, diffuser of tensions, and provider of contraband wine. She believes in thinking for yourself, creating solutions, and keeping the promises she makes, even if they tear her away from flying.
CAROL HENDERSON -teens/20s- The brazen and earnest runt of the litter. Unafraid of most anything, Carol finds herself excelling at what she does not out of brains and natural ability, but out of fearlessness and sheer willpower. A firm believer in respect and equality. Fiery, fearless, hapless.
MILDRED SIMMONS -20s- A woman of few loyalties. A bit of a prankster and boot-kisser, Mildred and Eddie are either constantly at odds or in cahoots. Nevertheless, she is good at what she does and loves the job.

Jesus Christ Superstar for Circle Players

Jesus Christ Superstar is the first rock opera, created at the end of the turbulent '60s, that has become global phenomenon, wowing audiences for more than 40 years. At its center is a social and political rebel-- Jesus, whose meteoric rise provides a parallel to contemporary "celebrity culture and faith in the modern age of terrorism."

Circle's production, directed by Jason Lewis, is set in modern-day Middle East, a war-torn town which has seen its fair share of bombings and vandalism. JCS presents an extraordinary and universally-known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. He increasingly questions the enlightened motives of this new prophet, Jesus, resulting in betrayal. Propelled by a stirring score, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR illuminates the transcendent power of the human spirit with a passion that goes straight to the heart.

Directed by Jason Lewis, with music direction by Dennis Palmer and Kelsi Fulton and choreography by Stephanie Jones-Benton

PRODUCTION DATES: August 12 - August 21, 2016

Five-time Tony-winning Peter and the Starcatcher upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). A wildly theatrical adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson's best-selling novels, the play was conceived for the stage by directors Roger Rees and Alex Timbers and written by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Barker. From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair and the bonds of friendship, duty, and love.

A young orphan and his mates are shipped off from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by the evil King Zarboff. They know nothing of the mysterious trunk in the captain's cabin, containing a precious, otherworldly cargo. At sea, the boys are discovered by a precocious young girl named Molly, a Starcatcher-in-training, who realizes that the trunk's precious cargo is starstuff, a celestial substance so powerful it must never fall into the wrong hands. When the ship is taken over by pirates - led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own - the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.

Featuring a dozen actors portraying more than 100 unforgettable characters, Peter And The Starcatcher uses ingenious stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of imagination to bring the story to life.

Casting 10 or 11 men & 1 or 2 women in the following roles:

PETER
Male, 18-25; A boy who doesn't miss much. Nameless, homeless, and friendless at the beginning of the play and a hero by the end. A survivor. More than anything in the world, he wants a home and a family. If he could grow up, he'd fall for Molly in a big way. But it'll never happen.

MOLLY ASTER
Female, 18-25; A true leader at a time when girls are mostly followers. Will risk everything for the sake of Doing Right. Curious, intelligent, beginning to feel things she doesn't yet understand-romantic longings that revert to childish tantrums under pressure-because, after all, she's a thirteen-year-old kid. She'll be a great woman one day.

BLACK STACHE
Male, 18+; Long after everyone else got out of the pirate business, Black Stache continues to terrorize the seven seas in search of a hero worthy of his villainy. Famous for his face foliage, he started shaving at age ten, had a bushy handlebar by eleven, and the blood of twenty crews on his hands by twelve. Heartless and hirsute, suspiciously well read, partial to the poetical and theatrical, and given to a ferocity from which no good shall ever spring; bari-tenor through G#

MRS. BUMBRAKE/ TEACHER
Male, 18+; Molly's nanny. British to the bone. Still has enough of her girlish charm to turn a sailor's head and leaven his dreams. Stiff in the lip, loose in the hip, fun on a ship.

SMEE
Male or Female, 18+; dedicated first-mate to Black Stache; he is not the smartest guy on the crew, but is the quickest to respond to any orders that the captain issues; vocal range: good singer, tenor to F

PRENTISS
Male, 18-25; Ambitious, hyper-articulate, logical; yearns to be a leader, even as he knows in his heart that he never shall be one. A bit of a blow hard with just the teeny-tiniest touch of cowardice; bari-tenor through F.

TED
Male, 18-25; Obsessed with food: the eating of, the fighting over, the dreaming about. A natural actor, an easy wit, perhaps a future poet. Called "Tubby" by Prentiss, though not due to girth, of which orphans, given their meager diets, have very little indeed; strong soloist, bari-tenor

LORD LEONARD ASTER
Male, 18+; The very model of a Victorian English gentleman, loyal subject to the Queen, devoted father, faithful friend. Also, and not irrelevant to our story, Lord Aster is a Starcatcher-dedicated to protecting the Earth and all who dwell thereon from the awesome power of starstuff; bari-tenor through F

CAPTAIN ROBERT FALCON SCOTT
Male, 18+; Captain of Britain's fastest frigate, the Wasp. Years later, he will lead an expeditionary team to the South Pole, freeze to death, and become the iconic British hero, Scott of the Antarctic; bari-tenor through F#

GREMPKIN/ FIGHTING PRAWN
Male, 18+; The mean and malodorous schoolmaster of St. Norbert's Orphanage for Lost Boys. Likes to keep his boys in the dark, as sunlight is known to feed rebellious notions, and on account of the preference in certain quarters for lads that are white and pasty; bari-bass

BILL SLANK/ HAWKING CLAM
Male, 18+; The Neverland's vicious captain, without the skill or quality to lead anyone but himself, and always into disaster. A greedy bastard who'd sell his own mother for a ship to command and send boys to their doom for the favor of those who would use starstuff for personal gain, global domination, or worse. An orphan, too; bari-bass

ALF
Male, 18+; An old sea dog. Something about him appeals to the feminine sensibility-might be his bowlegs, his saucy gait, or his kind heart; tenor to A
