New York University's Tisch New Theatre is proud to present HAIRSPRAY, with music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman, and a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan. Set in 1962 Baltimore, the musical tells the story of plump teenager Tracy Turnblad, whose life dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she launches an ambitious campaign to integrate the show. HAIRSPRAY focuses on civil rights, the beauty of diversity and individuality, and acts as a beacon of hope and inclusiveness in the theatre world and beyond.

HAIRSPRAY runs four performances April 1-3, 2016 at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, located at 566 LaGuardia Place. For ticket reservations and more information, visit NYUHairspray.com. Tickets are on sale now! HAIRSPRAY is entirely produced, directed, designed, and performed by students. Tisch New Theatre was founded in 2009 with the goal to welcome more non-drama students into the theater. TNT is committed to developing ambitious work intended to entertain, inspire, and unite the artistic efforts of the Tisch Community with the entire student body. Last spring, TNT brought Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman's CATCH ME IF YOU CAN back to the New York stage to great acclaim. Last fall, they mounted the immersive production of Stephen Sondheim's classic, COMPANY.
