Celebrating its 5th year bringing live theatre to cinema audiences around the world, NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE is proud to present the second of its two winter titles, broadcast to cinemas internationally - Treasure Island!

TREASURE ISLAND

The National Theatre's production will be broadcast to cinemas internationally tonight, January 22, 2015 (with many encore dates in U.S. cities).

This winter, Robert Louis Stevenson's story of murder, money and mutiny, TREASURE ISLAND, will be brought to life on the Olivier stage in a new adaptation by Bryony Lavery. The production will be directed by Polly Findlay and designed by Lizzie Clachan, with lighting design by Bruno Poet, fight direction by Bret Yount, music and sound by Dan Jones and songs by John Tams. The cast includes Patsy Ferran as Jim. The production opens at the National's Olivier Theatre on December 10, 2014.

It's a dark, stormy night. The stars are out. Jim, the inn-keeper's granddaughter, opens the door to a terrifying stranger. At the old sailor's feet sits a huge sea-chest, full of secrets. Jim invites him in - and her dangerous voyage begins.

Please note: TREASURE ISLAND is suitable for ages 10 years +.
