Following a sell-out season in 2015, the triumphant stage adaption of Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest will be returning to Arts Centre Melbourne from 29 January 2016.

Originally produced by the Melbourne Theatre Company and Kay + McLean Productions, the reworking of Hitchcock's classic spy-thriller enjoyed an overwhelmingly successful premiere season, receiving glowing reviews and standing ovations.

Adapted for stage by Carolyn Burns and directed by Simon Phillips, North by Northwest charts the suave Roger O. Thornhill's serious case of mistaken identity from New York to North Dakota. Clever set design, dynamic projections and an instantly recognisable score bring the film adaption to life.

The talented cast including Matt Day, Amber McMahon, Nicholas Bell, Ian Bliss, Justin Stewart Cotta, Sheridan Harbridge, John Leary, Tony Llewllyn-Jones, Lucas Stibbard and Lachlan Woods return to the stage at Arts Centre Melbourne's impressive State Theatre.

"Andrew and I are thrilled by the success of North by Northwest and proud to have worked with the MTC and our extraordinary creative team, to bring Hitchcock's iconic film to the stage for the first time.

"We are truly delighted to be now working with Arts Centre Melbourne and to see the play have the future life it so thoroughly deserves," said Kay + McLean Productions' Liza McLean

"Those who missed out on tickets for the first season can now experience the show, and those who loved it and want to take it in for a second - or third - time can do so too. The glamour, thrill and intelligence of the production will definitely shine in the State Theatre," said Claire Spencer, Chief Executive Officer, Arts Centre Melbourne.

Don't miss your opportunity to see the show that has had Melbourne audiences in rapturous applause night after night.
