The Theatre at St. Claude has a theatrical apparition comically, tragically, and terrifyingly relevant to our times haunting its stage.

From the acclaimed writer of "An Outopia for Pigeons" and the director of "The Killing of a Lesbian Bookie" comes a ghostly tale of corruption and the regrets that follow in its wake.

Justin's Maxwell's "Niagara Falls" is a broken play for a broken city.

A corrupt mayor more interested in his five thousand and five dollars than his constituents a mistress obsessed with Canada, an estranged wife seeking freedom from her marriage and life, and the owner of a Seneca casino desiring a casual revenge are all part of Maxwell's wild word play driven by Imagist poetics.

And in the center of it all, a three-hundred-year-old boy leaves his home at the bottom of the Niagara River and wanders through the rust belt dereliction of the city asking, "do you know why there are so many bodies in the whirlpool?"

But it is the city itself, quickly approaching the end of its dramatic arc, that is the protagonist, and it answers the boy's question with a larger one.

How, with good resources, location, and one of the seven wonders of the natural world, can an American city die?

The Theatre at St. Claude aims to find out. Join us for a that is tale strange but familiar, distant but growing closer, and comically relevant for our times.

Jim Fitzmorris directs a cast that includes Bunny Love, Matthew Mickal, Margeaux Fanning, and Kyle Woods in world unlike New Orleans' audiences have ever seen... but may have felt.
