NBC's TONIGHT SHOW Tops 'Kimmel', 'Late Show' for Week of 1/14

NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" has finished #1 in adults 18-49 and total viewers versus its ABC and CBS time-slot competition for the week of January 14-18, the second week since ABC moved "Jimmy Kimmel Live" into the 11:35 p.m.-12:35 a.m. ET time period.

In week two of the new ABC schedule, "Tonight" topped "Kimmel" in viewers 18-49 by a 12 percent margin (with 1.053 million viewers vs. 939,000 for "Kimmel"), with Jay growing versus the prior week's Monday-through-Friday average by 1 percent in 18-49 viewers while Kimmel was down 13 percent versus the previous week's Tuesday-through-Friday 11:35 p.m. results.

In total viewers, "Tonight" out-delivered "Kimmel" during the January 14-18 week by a 26 percent margin (3.459 million vs. 2.743 million), up from a 17 percent margin from Tuesday through Friday the prior week.

At 12:35 a.m. ET last week, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" also ranked #1 versus the ABC and CBS competition in 18-49 viewers and total viewers.

"Late Night" beat ABC's "Nightline" for the week in their head-to-head half-hour by a 33 percent margin in adults 18-49 (with 689,000 viewers vs. "Nightline's" 517,000 in the 12:30-1 a.m. ET half-hour), up from a 12 percent margin the prior week. Jimmy grew week to week in the half-hour by 3 percent in 18-49 viewers (689,000 vs. 667,000 from Tuesday through Friday last week), while "Nightline" shrunk by 13 percent (517,000 vs. 597,000). In total viewers, "Late Night" topped "Nightline" in their common half-hour by a 7 percent margin for the week of January 14-18 (1.816 million vs. 1.695 million), after "Nightline" had led by a 1 percent margin the prior week.

For the week, Tonight" delivered bigger audiences than CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" in all key categories: adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night" also out-delivered CBS's "Late Late Show" in each of those key categories.
