NBC's THE VOICE is #1 Show in Key Demos

NBC won the night among the Big 4 in adults 18-49, taking six of six half-hours despite running a "Blacklist" encore at 10 p.m. For the night, NBC was #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in all key demographics - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

"The Voice" (3.3 rating, 10 share in adults 18-49, 11.7 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) is the #1 show of the night in adults 18-49 and other key demos. "The Voice" is currently running within a tenth of a rating point of last week's 3.4 in these preliminary fast-national ratings and is within 0.2 of last week's 3.5 in official nationals. In total viewers, last night's "Voice" retained 98% of last week's official-national 11.966 million. In the time period, "The Voice" leads its Big 4 competition in every key demo.

"The Voice" is the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 by a 43% margin (with a 3.3 rating vs. a 2.3 for the #2 show on those nets, ABC's "Dancing With the Stars").

An encore telecast of "The Blacklist" (1.6/5 in adults 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) won the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 by a 33% margin (with a 1.6 rating vs. a 1.2 for ABC's #2 "Castle" rebroadcast) and was #1 or tied for #1 among those nets in The Hour in every key demo.

This is the top-scoring encore "Blacklist" to date in 18-49 and total viewers among four Monday rebroadcasts and eight Saturday encores. The prior high results for a rebroadcast were a 1.1/3 in 18-49 (Jan. 6 at 10 p.m.) and 4.6 million viewers overall (Jan. 6 at 8 p.m.).


In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday night:

In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.4/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.0/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.2/6.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


For the Week:

With the Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice" generating two of the week's top five 18-49 ratings among Primetime programs on the Big 4 networks, NBC has averaged a 1.4 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 5.4 million viewers overall for the week of April 7-13, according to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

The Monday edition of "The Voice" ranked #3 among the week's Primetime shows on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, while Tuesday's "Voice" finished #5 (rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows). Also ranking in the top 30 were: "Law & Order: SVU" (tied for #14), "Chicago Fire" (tied for #21) and "About a Boy" (tied for #25). Excluding sports, the Monday "Voice" was #2 among Big 4 Primetime programs in adults 18-49 and #1 in teens 12-17.

Among the NBC shows preempted or in rebroadcast last week were "The Blacklist," "Revolution," "Hollywood Game Night" and Friday's "Dateline NBC."

Thru the season's 29th week (thru April 13), NBC has won 78 nights in adults 18-49 among the Big 4 networks, more NBC nightlong wins than for any full September-to-May season since 2003-04 (83 wins).

Through 29 weeks of the season, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, all key adult-female demos and other key measures. It's the first time NBC has ranked #1 in 18-49 this late in the season in 10 years (since the 2003-04 season).

NBC's 2.9 rating in adults 18-49 is the network's top average at this point in the season in five years (since a 2.9 in 2008-09).

Versus one year ago, NBC is up 21% season to date in adults 18-49 (2.9 vs. 2.4).

In total viewers, NBC ranks #2 for the season with an average of 9.7 million viewers, which is its biggest overall audience 29 weeks into the season in eight years (since 2005-06, 9.9 million). Versus one year ago, NBC is up 38% season to date in total viewers (9.7 million vs. 7.0 million).
