NBC's AMERICA'S GOT TALENT is No. 1 for Week in Key Demos

NBC has tied for #2 in adults 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX for the Primetime week of August 5-11 and is #2 outright in total viewers, averaging a 1.1 rating, 4 share in 18-49 and 4.2 million viewers overall, according to "live plus same day" ratings from Nielsen Media Research. NBC was #1 or tied for #1 among those networks for the week in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49.

The Tuesday and Wednesday editions of "America's Got Talent" tied for #3 among Primetime telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX for the week in adults 18-49 and one telecast or the other ranked #1 for the week on those nets in men 18-34, men 18-49 and kids 2-11.

Other top-rated NBC shows for the week of August 5-11 in adults 18-49 include: Wednesday's "Talent" encore (tied for #11); Monday's "American Ninja Warrior" (tied for #13); Monday's "Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls" (tied for #15); Friday's "Dateline NBC" (tied for #15), Wednesday's "Camp" (tied for #22); and both the Thursday original and Tuesday encore of "Hollywood Game Night" (tied for #22).

NBC ranked #1 in 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX on Tuesday and Friday nights and tied for #1 on Wednesday night.

Primetime averages for the week of August 5-11 in adults 18-49 are: CBS, 1.2/4; NBC, 1.1/4; ABC, 1.1/3; Fox, 0.9/3; and CW, 0.3/1. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 5.5 million; NBC, 4.2 million; ABC, 4.2 million; Fox, 2.6 million; and CW, 0.9 million.

Averages for the 2012-13 Broadcast Year to date are: CBS, 2.5/7; Fox, 2.2/7; NBC, 2.2/6; ABC, 2.1/6; and CW, 0.6/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 10.4 million; ABC, 7.2 million; NBC, 6.7 million; Fox, 6.2 million; and CW, 1.6 million.

For the 2012-13 broadcast year to date, NBC is tied for #2 in adults 18-49, tied for #2 in adults 25-54 and is #2 outright in adults 18-34.

NBC highlights for the week of August 5-11:

Monday: "American Ninja Warrior" (1.4 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in the time period in adults 18-49 and total viewers and was #1 among those networks in men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54. "American Ninja Warrior" grew half-hour to half-hour by 15% in adults 18-49 (to a 1.5 rating from a 1.3) and has now generated 18-49 growth of at least 0.2 of a point with all five Monday telecasts so far this summer. This week's telecast grew from half-hour to half-hour in every key ratings category.

"Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) grew week to week in 18-49 rating by 8% (1.3 vs. 1.2), despite facing this week's "Bachelorette" finale. The 3.8 million in total viewers is a three-week high for "Get Out Alive, while the 1.3 in 18-49 is the best week-five rating for a new Reality Show on ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX this summer. "Get Out Alive" has delivered the best or tied for the best week-one, week-two, week-three, week-four and week-five ratings so far this summer for any new reality series on those networks.

Tuesday: NBC ranked #1 for the night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, led by the #1 show of the night, "America's Got Talent" (2.5/7 in 18-49, 9.4 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET). "Talent" topped the #2 telecast of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in 18-49 by a 79% margin (with a 2.5 from 9-11 p.m. vs. the 1.4 from 8-10 for Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance").

An encore telecast of "Hollywood Game Night" (1.1/4 in 18-49 3.7 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) grew 10% week to week in 18-49 rating (to a 1.1 from a 1.0) to hit a three-week high in the slot. "Hollywood Game Night" matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period in seven weeks (since "America's Got Talent" aired in the slot on June 18).

Wednesday: NBC tied for #1 for the night in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright in total viewers with the #1 show of the night in both categories, "America's Got Talent" (2.5/8 in 18-49, 10.3 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET). "Talent" generated a three-week high for a Wednesday edition of the show in 18-49 rating, up 4% versus the prior week in 18-49 (to a 2.5 from a 2.4). "Talent" also grew 25% versus last year's third results show in 18-49 rating (2.5 vs. 2.0 from 9-10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012) and was up versus the year-ago third results show by 35% in total viewers (10.263 million vs. 7.610 million).

"Camp" (1.2/4 in adults 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) matched its 18-49 rating of the prior week to tie for #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49 and rank #1 outright among those nets in adults 18-34. In its first five weeks, "Camp" has earned NBC's top five 18-49 and total-viewer results in the slot, excluding Stanley Cup Hockey coverage, since May 22.

Thursday: "The Winner Is..." (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in the time period in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures. "The Winner Is..." grew from its first half-hour to its second by 13% in adults 18-49 (to a 0.9 rating from a 0.8) and 10% in total viewers (4.0 million vs. 3.7 million).

"Hollywood Game Night" (1.1/3 in 18-49 3.6 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) won the time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and all other key demos. "Hollywood Game Night" has now won its slot among ABC, CBS and NBC for all five telecasts to date in 18-49. "Hollywood Game Night" grew by 10% from half-hour to half-hour in adults 18-49 (to a 1.1 rating from a 1.0) and has generated half-hour growth with all five original telecasts to date.

Friday: Encore telecasts of "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall at 8 p.m. ET and 0.7/3 in 18-49, 2.8 million viewers overall at 8:30) generated NBC's highest 18-49 rating in The Hour since June 28 ("Dateline NBC").

A rebroadcast "Dateline NBC" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) reported the #1 results of the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 (a 1.8 rating) and total viewers. "Dateline" matched its top Friday rating in 18-49 and 25-54 since May 31.

"Dateline" ranked #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. It's the seventh week in a row "Dateline" has ranked #1 or tied for #1 in its Friday time period among those networks in those three categories.

NBC was #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures.

Sunday: An encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (0.7/2 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall from 9-10 p.m. ET) matched the show's prior 18-49 rating and was up 17% in total viewers (3.3 million vs. 2.8 million on July 28). "SVU" grew from its first half-hour to its second by 33% in adults 18-49 (to a 0.8 rating from a 0.6).

"Crossing Lines" (0.5/2 in 18-49, 2.5 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m.) equaled its prior 18-49 rating despite the prior week's preemption for NFL football, and matched the show's highest 18-49 rating since July 7.
