ABOUT NATASHA OWENS
After one listen, it's no surprise that Natasha grew up around music. She comes from a family of singers, musicians and songwriters and has been singing in church all of her life either in choir, praise team or soloist. The songs: Let Go, Can't Stop This Fire, Heal Me, Always Will, I Made It Through, Not For A Moment, The Cure, Spirit Rain, Remains, and Your Name hold a smooth, steady groove for the listener to tap along to while the lyrics and delivery reveal an inner struggle and a fiery spirit that calls to mind household names like Audrey Assad, Lindsay McCall and Heather Williams at their best.

"I strive to perform songs of restoration that can help each listener with whatever trial in their life that they were facing", Natasha said. "To let them know that they are not alone, that there is a God who loves them and will never leave them."

On May 6, 2010, her dad died suddenly. Natasha was very close to her Dad and the loss had a huge impact on her. Not too long after his death, Natasha was asked to step up from just praise singing at her church to the position of music minister. She was hesitant at first but God laid it upon her heart that it was the right thing to do. She was just getting through the introductory period when she entered into the angry stage of grief. She became so angry that God allowed her Dad to be taken from her; he could have saved him. She felt like such a hypocrite. Every week she was leading people into praise and worship and telling them how great God was while at the same time she was so angry with him and felt like he had failed her. She was at a fork in the road and could have chosen to live in bitterness or to rise above. During that time, she was drawn to nothing but restoration songs - and through those songs God was working in her and she didn't even know it. The more she taught them and sang them the more healing she received. God took all of the hurt, pain and bitterness and replaced them with peace, love, hope and comfort.

Natasha remarked "I heard someone say one time this and it has stuck with me. Take the word 'through' and take the 'th' off of it and you are left with the word 'rough'. You can't make it through something without it being a 'rough' road. This is so true. So I stand here today so much stronger because 'I made it through'".

This past December, she resigned from the music position. She knew it was the right thing to do but she questioned God if he was really calling her to minister through music then to guide her steps and let her know that she would minister again. Kind of like 'give me a sign'. The next morning, she was contacted from a producer, Jacob Lowery, in Nashville asking her to do a CD. Even though she had asked God for a sign, she was still blown away that he gave her one! She told Jacob that it had to be a CD with restoration songs. She wanted to help people with their fork in the road. So many things in life, not just death, cause us to choose going closer or further away from God. It's about making the right choices and staying closer to him that makes all the difference.
