This Spring, Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist Mýa makes her Broadway debut as Velma Kelly in Chicago for a nine-week limited engagement beginning Monday, May 12, 2008.

Now celebrating a decade in the entertainment industry as an internationally acclaimed performer, Mýa is best known for her iconic hits "Case of the Ex," "Ghetto Superstar," "My Love Is Like Wo" and the Grammy Award winning "Lady Marmalade."

Mýa is also featured in the new (RED) campaign with Dell & Microsoft. This year, she will act as an advocate for animal welfare as spokesperson for the North Shore Animal League's 2008 Tour For Life. Mýa is also a National Co-Chair for HillBlazers, Senator Hillary Clinton's campaign youth outreach program.

Though the role of Velma Kelly marks Mýa's Broadway stage debut, she is no stranger to the razzle-dazzle world of Chicago. In 2003, she appeared as Mona ("I loved Alvin Lipshitz....") in the film version of CHICAGO, starring Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

"It's not often that one encounters a performer with the level of accomplishment that Mýa brings to the table," said Chicago producer Barry Weissler. "She is a true triple-threat - a wonderful actor, an amazing singer, and an insanely talented dancer. She has an incredible sense of drive, intensity and showmanship that I'm confident will make her portrayal of Velma Kelly unlike anything we've ever seen."

Mýa is scheduled to appear as Velma Kelly through Sunday, July 13, 2008.
