Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) will host a developmental reading of a new folk opera, VESTIGE, written by Andrew Lynch.

Set in New York City, 1966, VESTIGE follows Paul Bradley, a struggling novelist who is sent to Colombia on assignment to cover a burgeoning social movement. Moved by the plight of the working people, seduced by high society, and entrapped by leader of the Banana Republic, Paul must decide which story he is going to tell.

The reading features Vishal Vaidya, Hana Slevin, Michael De Souza, Eric Stephenson, Jessica Kahkoska, Ann Flanigan, Jordan Wolfe, Andrea Nevil, and Diego Klock-Perez, and will be directed by MTF Artistic Director Shakina Nayfack with musical direction by Brian Cavanagh-Strong. VESTIGE was originally developed with Katie Melby and Eric Powell Holm with support from Columbia University and presented as a workshop production at Cloud City, Brooklyn earlier this year.

The reading of VESTIGE takes place December 10 at 8pm and has a $12 suggested donation at the door. $10 advance reservations can be made at http://mtf.nyc/events/vestige

Musical Theatre Factory is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping musical theatre artists develop and present new work in a collaborative atmosphere free from the pressures of critical or financial success. This reading is presented as part of the MTF Developmental Reading Series. More information can be found at www.MTF.nyc

Musical Theatre Factory is located at 250 West 40th Street (between 7th & 8th Ave) on the fourth floor.
