The Music Hall in Detroit has commissioned a ballet as part of a tribute to legendary musician David Bowie.

The ballet is scheduled to debut June 18. Organizers say Complexions Contemporary Ballet will offer interpretations of the work of Bowie that night as well as the band Metallica.

Bowie died in January at age 69. The Music Hall says the production will draw from his decades of hits to create a rock opera-style production.

Other Michigan tributes to Bowie were earlier announced. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra plans an event titled The Music of David Bowie on July 10 at Meadow Brook amphitheater in suburban Detroit. And the Grand Rapids Symphony plans a tribute on Aug. 2 at Cannonsburg Ski Area.
