Montego Glover, Dave Bennet & More Set for SING SING SWING at Carnegie Hall, 11/1

On November 1, 2013, The New York Pops continues its 31st season in a return to the days when big bands ruled the dance floor with Tony Award nominee Montego Glover and Dave Bennett, clarinet, guest artists, joining the orchestra in an all-swing program, featuring a tribute to the 75th anniversary of Benny Goodman's legendary live recording at Carnegie Hall.

Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke - described by The New York Times as a "polished, welcoming host" who is "young and vigorous, with a playful attitude" - will lead the orchestra, with selections including "Blues in the Night," "And the Angels Sing," and "I Got Rhythm," at Carnegie Hall'sStern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.

Do you like to take a turn on the dance floor? On Thursday, September 26, 2013 Carnegie Hall will be hosting a Strictly Lindy Dance and Contest beginning at 8:00 PM at Providence NYC (331 West 57th Street). Participants will compete for the chance to appear on stage with the orchestra during the Sing Sing Swing concert onNovember 1, 2013. Judges, including Steven Reineke and Montego Glover, will determine the top three semi-finalists, and videos of their performances will be shared on Carnegie Hall's YouTube channel for public voting beginning on October 1, 2013. The winning couple will be announced on October 18, 2013.

The New York Pops 2013-2014 season continues with Under the Mistletoe with Ashley Brown on December 19 and 20, 2013, 8:00 PM and A Charlie Brown Christmas Family Concert on December 21, 2013, 2:00PM at Carnegie Hall.
