Parton expressed her concern to London's The Sun Newspaper, saying, "I don't think the crowd would be so forgiving again if she did anything else that was really offensive."

When Miley decided that she needed to distance herself from her Disney past, she turned to Parton.Parton recalls, "One day, she'd had enough and told me: 'I need to murder Hannah Montana in order for people to accept who I really am.' I think she felt she had to make that severe a change. And she obviously did."

However, Parton isn't just worried about Miley. She's also worried about the music industry in general. She stated, "It's kind of frightening. I know every generation has their own thing. But, of course, I'm an old timer - I don't want them to get so far gone that it's all about sex and violence."

Throughout Parton's legendary 50-year career, the incomparable singer has amassed 25 gold, platinum, and multi-platinum albums; had 25 songs reach the top spot on the Billboard country chartsa record for a female artist; earned seven Grammys; and was even nominated for two Oscars, the first for writing the hit theme song for her classic office comedy Nine to Five, the other for writing "Travelin' Thru", from Transamerica, starring Felicity Huffman.
