Brooklyn-based, Venezuelan-born dynamo Migguel Anggelo, returns to Joe's Pub with his virtuosic band The Immigrants and a pair of sensational singers to create a kaleidoscope of vocal theatrics and poetic storytelling that is hilarious and touching in equal measure. ANOTHER SON OF VENEZUELA is set for Joe's Pub at The Public on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 7 p.m.

Developed with and directed by Obie Award winner David Drake, ANOTHER SON OF VENEZUELA explores the very personal immigration themes of love, loss, family, and national pride as well as the challenges of claiming an authentic identity in the "land of the free."

Taking a cue from Lin-Manuel Miranda, John Leguiziamo, and Cesar Alvarez, the Venezuelan actor, singer and theatrical creator joins the ranks as one of a few Latino artists forging his path in a medium that typically lacks ethnic diversity. Similar to Alvarez's Futurity, ANOTHER SON OF VENEZUELA is likewise a combination of music and storytelling. Like Miranda's IN THE HEIGHTS, Migguel's show equally shares the autobiographical nature of the production and celebrates Latino culture through music.

By combining Latin, pop, and folk classics with his and Musical Director Mau Quiros' original compositions, Migguel Anggelo is forging a new music-theater experience in our ever expanding bilingual world.
