Metropolitan Entertainment today announced a change in the technology provider for all concerts at The Concert Hall at the New York Society for Ethical Culture in New York City. Located at 2 West 64th Street at Central Park West, the new ticketing provider will be Ticketfly, a live event technology platform.

John Scher, President of Metropolitan Entertainment, produces a significant number of shows each year at the intimate, 811-seat historic theater. Ticketfly services begin with shows going on sale this week including The Zombies, Jake Shimabukuro and Laurie Berkner Band (see ticketfly.com for tickets and details).

Scher explains that a key benefit of entering the agreement with Ticketfly is to "offer a less expensive service charge to the customer. This, in addition to The Concert Hall's modestly priced tickets, is more in sync with the theater's schedule of artists." Scher adds, "In addition, Ticketfly's extensive affiliate network provides new opportunities to broaden our reach and bring more people out for a show."

"This partnership has special significance for me," says Andrew Dreskin, co-founder and CEO of Ticketfly. "Metropolitan Entertainment was the promoter of the first arena concerts I went to as a kid in the early 80s. In fact, John Scher is directly responsible for me discovering reggae (Black Uhuru opening for The Police)! Needless to say, I'm thrilled to have a legendary promoter such as John joining the Ticketfly platform."

Ticketfly, whose mission is to reimagine the live event experience for promoters and fans, works with more than 1,100 leading venues across the U.S. and Canada. "Concert go-ers in the Metropolitan New York area are familiar with Ticketfly," says Scher. "They've already partnered with popular venues such as the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, Central Park SummerStage, and Forest Hills Stadium, among others. They have a reputation for outstanding customer service, and we know ticket-buyers for shows at The Concert Hall will be in good hands with Ticketfly."

Metropolitan Entertainment produces live entertainment events throughout the Northeast in partnership with several ticketing providers. "We have a great working relationship with Ticketmaster built over many decades and expect that to continue at various venues such as The Beacon Theatre, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Town Hall, Prudential Center in Newark, and Madison Square Garden," says Scher.

"Our ultimate goal, with any show at any venue, is to give fans the best experience possible. I'm excited to continue putting on great shows, especially with Ticketfly as our newest partner."
