Baby boomers are known to have an obsession for staying young. This $80-$120 billion industry of anti-aging measures such as cosmetology, specified diet regimen and weight loss programs has invariably grown due to the immense patronization of middle aged men and women who relentlessly uphold the value of youth, beauty and wellness. Nonetheless, just as there are millions of cosmetic services and products in the market, there are also real dangers that need to be taken into consideration. In line with this, a new book titled Skin Scam by Melvin L. Elson, MD educates readers about the dos and don'ts of cosmetology as well as measures that ensure the safety of every beauty product and service consumer.

A board certified dermatologist and an expert in the field, with over thirty years of cosmetic dermatology specialization, Elson explains to his readers the mechanism of aging and its causes. In Skin Scam, he provides useful tips and guidelines in looking for the best professional to handle one's surgical and aesthetic needs. Here he explains fully the various roles of medical health experts, giving readers a wider perspective on who should handle specific procedures. He also provides readers an honest review of beauty products and how they directly or indirectly affect a person's skin and overall wellness.

Based on historical and medical research and the author's immense knowledge and experience, Skin Scam reveals the basics of how one can truly harness the skill in identifying which product or service can best enhance their physical looks and improve their health.
