Broadway veteran Melissa Errico announced early last month that she would be undergoing a surgery to repair a blood vessel on her vocal chord. In April, Errico had to depart the Classic Stage Company production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Passion to go on vocal rest. The singer has started a blog to document her experiences and continues now with her fourth post.

Errico writes: "This is a hard chapter to begin. Because in a way I never moved from that moment. A text from Giorgio that I am not coming back. I am still moving my feet, like pushing my feet forward in my shoes each day, but my mind and my soul are just stuck in that thought. I was not allowed back."

Errico teases the next part with: "Read Blog 5 for Park Avenue, longing and a lie that wasn't".

Melissa Errico has starred in seven Broadway musicals and released two major solo cds: Blue Like That (EMI) and Lullabies and Wildflowers (VMG/Universal). In 2003, Melissa won a Tony-nomination for Best Leading Actress in the Broadway musical AMOUR, composed by multi-Oscar-winning composer Michel Legrand (Yentl), her musical idol, who went on to orchestrate and conduct a 100-piece symphony for the recording of Legrand Affair produced by Phil Ramone, which was released October 18th 2011.

During the summer of 2011, Melissa co-starred with Alec Baldwin in GIFT OF THE GORGON by Peter Shaffer, and reprised CAMELOT with Jeremy Irons for one-night only on Broadway at The Shubert Theater. She recently starred in Classic Stage Company's Passion and has appeared in sold out concerts at both 54 Below and Joe's Pub.
