According to Variety, William Mastrosimone's new play A Stone Carver will be seen in a commercial run at the Soho Playhouse Off-Broadway from July 18th through September 3rd, with opening night set for July 27th.

Dan Lauria ("The Wonder Years," Off-Broadway's The Guys) will star in the play, which will be directed by Robert Kalfin (Yentl, Happy End on Broadway).  Set in '70s New Jersey, the play concerns the title character (played by Lauria), whose home is threatened by the construction of a new highway.

Darren Lee Cole and Parseghian Planco (comprised of former William Morris agents Gene Parseghian and Johnnie Planco) will produce A Stone Carver, which will also feature Jim Iorio and Elizabeth Rossa, who were previously seen in the play when it premiered at the Passage Theater Company in Trenton, NJ.  They will once again play, respectively, the carver's son and wife.

Mastrosimone, who is currently the head writer for the TNT miniseries "Into the West," received a Drama Desk nomination for his play Extremities (later adapted into a film).  Other plays include Sunshine and The Woolgatherer.
