Mary Testa To Be Celebrity Auctioneer for Bideawee's Monday Night Gala 6/7

Mary Testa, the celebrated Broadway actress and star of film and television, will be the "Celebrity Auctioneer" for the Live Auction of Bideawee's Monday Night Gala on June 7, 2010. Bideawee's annual Gala is the organization's premier fundraising event that celebrates animal welfare and Bideawee's mission to promote and support safe, loving, long-term relationships between people and companion animals.

In addition to appearing on screen this summer in the release of the feature film, "Eat, Pray, Love," staring Julia Roberts, Ms. Testa's Broadway career spans leading roles in many of the theater world's most popular and highly acclaimed musicals. She most recently received a Drama Desk nomination for her performance in "Xanadu," the Tony-nominated Best Musical by the playwright Douglas Carter Bean, loosely based on the 1980 film. She then went on to appear in the revival of "Guys and Dolls," during the 2008-2009 Broadway season.

Ms. Testa is an admired stage presence and has been so honored as the recipient of various nominations and theatrical awards. She received Tony Award nominations for her performances in "42nd Street" and "On The Town." Drama Desk nominations include "See What I Want To See," "First Lady Suite," and "String of Pearls."

Ms. Testa's film roles include "The Bounty Hunter," "Four Single Fathers," "The Out-Of-Towners," and "Stanley and Iris." Television credits include "Nurse Jackie," "Electric Company," "Whoopi," "Sex and the City," as well as "Law & Order" and numerous others.

Bideawee Gala 2010

The Bideawee Gala features cocktails, seated dinner and dancing. Awards are presented to those individuals that have made a difference in the lives of homeless pets and pet adoption.
