Mark Jacoby, who just finished a successful run as Judge Turpin in the recent revival of Sweeney Todd, will make his Barrington Stage debut as southern gentleman Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside in Mame, which will run as a staged concert version at the Pittsfield, MA theatre from October 4th through 15th.

He will join Sandy Duncan, who was previously announced for the title role.

Jacoby's other Broadway credits include: Vittorio Vidal in Sweet Charity (Theatre World Award), Baron von Gaigern in Grand Hotel, the title character in The Phantom of the Opera (a role he created in the national tour), Gaylord Ravenal in Show Boat (Tony and Outer Critics Award nominations), the original Father in Ragtime, and the Padre in the recent revival of Man of La Mancha.  Off-Broadway credits include Enter the Guardsman, while regional credits include On the Twentieth Century, Nine and Leading Ladies.

"Based on the best-selling novel by Patrick Dennis and the Lawrence and Lee play, Auntie Mame, the musical Mame follows the madcap adventures of the eccentric, life-affirming, Mame Dennis bringing up her orphaned nephew to live life as a banquet," as the show is described in Barrington notes.  Jerry Herman's award-winning score contains the standards "We Need a Little Christmas", "If He Walked into My Life", "Bosom Buddies", and, of course, the rousing title song.

Barrington Stage is located at 30 Union Street, Pittsfield, MA.  The performance schedule: Wednesday at 7pm, Thursday at 8pm, Friday at 2pm and 8pm, Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 3pm and 7:30pm.
