Marin Hinkle, Neal Huff and More Star in LCT3's LUCE, Beginning Tonight Off-Broadway

Marin Hinkle, Neal Huff, Olivia Oguma, Okieriete Onaodowan and Sharon Washington comprise the cast of the upcoming LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater world premiere production of LUCE, by JC Lee, directed by May Adrales. LUCE begins previews tonight, October 5, opens Monday, October 21 and will run through Sunday, November 17 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65thStreet).

When a teacher makes an alarming discovery about Luce (to be played by Okieriete Onaodowan), an all-star high school student, Luce's parents (to be played by Marin Hinkle and Neal Huff) are forced to reckon with their idealized image of their son, adopted years ago from a war-torn African country.

LUCE marks JC Lee's professional playwriting debut. He is a recent graduate of the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program at the Juilliard School and was a 2011-12 writing fellow at The Playwrights Realm. His plays have been in various stages of development throughout the United States at such theaters as South Coast Rep, the Magic Theatre, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival.

Director May Adrales' Off-Broadway credits include David Henry Hwang's The Dance and the Railroad at the Signature Theatre Company and Lauren Yee's Ching Chong Chinaman at Pan Asian Rep. Her production of Thomas Bradshaw's Bereavedwas named one of 2009's "Ten Best of the Year" by Time Out/NY. She has also directed in New York at The Public Theater, Second Stage, New York Theatre Workshop and Primary Stages. Her regional theater credits include productions at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Long Wharf Theatre, Portland Center Stage, Syracuse Stage and the Cleveland Playhouse.

LUCE will have sets by Timothy R. Mackabee, costumes by Kaye Voyce, lighting by Tyler Micoleau and sound by Jill BC Du Boff.

LUCE will be performed Monday and Wednesday through Sunday evenings at 7pm, with matinees Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets, priced at $20, will be available beginning Sunday, September 28 at the Lincoln Center Theater box office,telecharge.com or by visiting http://www.lct3.org.
