Thanks to the huge generosity of audiences around the world, MAMMA MIA!, the world's Number 1 hit musical is able to make a contribution of $1.2 Million to funding relief for the tsunami-hit regions of South East Asia.

With a total of 14 different productions currently playing around the globe, the gift combines the giving of the audiences from post-show collections in the theatres themselves, with further major donations from the production team including the producers, authors, director, choreographer and designers of MAMMA MIA!

MAMMA MIA!, the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, can be seen in London, New York, Las Vegas, Toronto, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Utrecht, Madrid, Osaka and the Korean city of Daegu. In addition the Australasian Tour, the US National Tour and the International Tour have all made contributions. Recently a fourteenth production of the musical has opened in ABBA's home capital city of Stockholm in Sweden.

Judy Craymer, the global producer who originally conceived MAMMA MIA!, commented

"The whole world was affected by the terrible tragedy we watched unfolding between Christmas and the New Year, usually a time for families to be together and have fun, and everyone involved with MAMMA MIA! wanted to do something to help. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed and how proud I am that we are able to help this way."

Produced by Judy Craymer, Richard East and Björn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal, the creative team responsible for bringing MAMMA MIA! to theatrical life includes Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus (music), Catherine Johnson (book) and Phyllida Lloyd (director). MAMMA MIA! has choreography by Anthony Van Laast, production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.

The funds raised by MAMMA MIA! will be donated to the registered Tsunami Relief Fund as well as 'Save The Children' Tsunami Relief.
