This Friday, January 26th, The After Party at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, located within the The West Bank Café, will welcome special guest host Rob Maitner/> and special guest pianist John McMahon.

The After Party, regularly hosted by MAC-Award-winner />Brandon Cutrell/> and Alysha Umphress (XL Star), with regular pianist Ray Fellman/> (Captain Louie), is an informal social gathering for the theatrically inclined that takes place every Friday from 10:30pm till 2am.

Maitner is a multi-award winning actor and singer whose New York credits include Urinetown! (OOBR Award), Fairy Tales (Bistro Award), Fleet Week! (Talkin' Broadway Citation for Outstanding Performance), A Clockwork Orange (OOBR Award) and Poor Man Superman (NYCFringe Outstanding Performance Award).  He has performed at clubs all over New York City, including Joe's Pub, The Metropolitan Room and The Duplex Cabaret Theatre. His critically-acclaimed solo show, "The Misadventures of Robbie Maitner," will be returning in 2007.

McMahon's credits include the Broadway production of Prince of Central Park, and the revival of the Gershwin musical Oh, Kay! Off-Broadway, he was heard playing for the hit musical, Ruthless! and the revue Whoop Dee Doo! He was the musical conductor and co-creator of the musical revue Bottoms Up! He directed the original revue of the music of Rick Crom/>'s Absolutely Rude!, and musical directed his Star Trek parody musical, Space Trek.  He is also composer (Satan's School for Girls) and a Bistro Award-winning cabaret and piano bar performer, In 2006, his new musical, Friends Like These, won the first Howard Blau "Most Pronmising Musical" award at the TRU reading series in December.

The After Party also 2006 Nightlife award-winning vocalist Lisa Asher at the bar. There is no cover charge and no minimum. "Come and sing yourself as the mic is always open (only rule: your selection must be from a musical!), or sit back and enjoy a cocktail with friends. Located just blocks from the Great White Way, you never know who might drop in," state press materials.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located downstairs, within The West Bank Café, 407 West 42nd St at 9th Avenue. There is a full bar and bar menu available, and reservations are not necessary for this event.
