Younger Child Productions in association with Emerging Artists Theatre is proud to present the World Premiere of MY WHITE WIFE, OR SO I MARRIED A BLACK MAN as part of the 20th annual New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC).

The play is written and performed by Rick Younger (NBC'S Today Show), and Vanessa Shealy (An American Drum Circle) who have been married for 10 years.

MY WHITE WIFE, OR SO I MARRIED A BLACK MAN is co-directed by Melissa Attebery (FringeNYC/One, Two, Whatever you do...) and Carl Foremen Jr. (College Humor/Funny or Die), and comes to FringeNYC via Emerging Artists Theatre, where the show was developed as part of their New Work Series.

Through storytelling, and stand-up comedy, this married couple reveals some inside information about race that audiences have been too scared, polite, or PC to ask. The show is written and performed by Rick Younger and Vanessa Shealy, who are in an interracial marriage, raising a biracial child, in a so-called "post-racial" America. The 75-minute production promises to give people of all complexions permission to have a difficult and desperately needed conversation about race - and laugh about it. True stories (and secrets) from inside Rick and Vanessa's interracial marriage. After ten years together, they might as well laugh about it! Honest, frank, hilarious storytelling.

Rick Younger, a stand-up comedian, actor and singer, is a regular correspondent on the "Guys Tell All" monthly segment on NBC's The Today Show. Rick has appeared on television in all three Law & Orders, Damages, Rescue Me, and Blue Bloods and recently in the Tribeca Film Festival feature film, Geezer, opposite Green Day's Billy Joe Armstrong. Vanessa Shealy, is a playwright and actor whose productions include Tea in the Afternoon (Theater Row), American Drum Circle (UP Theater Company), One, Two, Whatever you do...(FringeNYC) and CROOKED at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Tickets are $18.00 and go on sale July 15th at www.fringenyc.org. Performances take place at the Huron Club at The SoHo Playhouse, 15 Vandam Street, New York NY 10013. Subway: C/E to Spring Street, 1 to Houston.
